The icehockey tournament at Winter Universiade started on Tuesday
The first day of the tournament at the 2015 Granada Winter Universiade went as expected in the men´s ice hockey regulation games, being Groups B and C led by the favourite Teams. Team Russia defeated Sweden 5-1, Team Canada defeated Corea 11-1 and Team Kazakhstan defeated Japan 3-2.
The Russian “bear” has proven its long tradition at ice sports in an overwhelming display by both teams during the game. The Swedish team fought fiercely during the game that they were losing from the first period. Canada gave very little chances to Corea all through a game that ended in a very clear defeat.
In a more equal match, Japan was leading the scoreboard, but the Kazakh team kept trying and managed to break the deadlock in the last period. This way the day came to its end without surprises.
