Mårts upset with KHL
Six players selected for Sweden's Euro Hockey Tour games have declined participation. According to the Swedish head coach Pär Mårts it is because their KHL teams won't let them go.
KHL takes no break during the international league break - something that affects the national team players playing in the league.
Six of the fifteen selected KHL Swedes have now told Mårts they can't participate in the games against Finland this week. They are Henrik Karlsson, Anders Nilsson, Erik Gustafsson, Linus Omark, Jimmie Ericsson and Andreas Thuresson.
"It's the same reason for all of them" says Mårts to Aftonbladet. "The clubs won't let them go".
The six players will be replaced with Oscar Alsenfelt (G), Markus Svensson (G), Niclas Burström (D), Martin Johansson (F), Robert Rosén (F) and Oskar Sundqvist (F).
Sweden will play Finland February 6 in Västerås and February 8 in Stockholm.
