Lausanne keep a good pace against at Biel
Biel 2-3 Lausanne
Nothing like a Sunday afternoon for a hockey game in family. And today was good opportunity to see two rivals for the last decade compete for a play-off spot, but this this time in LNA. If Lausanne is almost sure to have a place in play-offs, that's not the case for Biel. The home team must certainly to fight for that play-off spot until the end against Fribourg, kloten and Ambri. So the pressure for today's game was in Biel's and the task wouldn't be easy against a top-3 defensive system, and playing only with three foreign players(Olausson and Spylo are injured at the moment.
We hadn't two minutes in the game and Lausanne was already in advantage. Goal scored by the ex-Biel player Alain Miéville assisted by top-scorer Ossi Louhivaara. Two minutes later in a power-play situation Lausanne scores the second goal in the game by Hytonen assisted by Canadian player Colby Genoway. The home team started this game with two goals handicap. If we had in mind that Lausanne is very efficient in neutral zone when waiting for the opponent... that could be trouble for home team. And that was demonstrated with a tic-tac-toe at minute 9 by Lausanne's top-line after a giveaway from Biel in neutral zone. Only Rytz with a great save stop Biel from the worse. In good play between Haas, Joggi and Jelovac, Biel saw the puck hit the post of Cristobal Huet's pipe. Biel was finally in the game. And so Lausanne with the taunting, "stopping" the pace of Biel's offense with two fights before the first period ended. Lausanne's coach Heinz Ehlers had study well this game.
The second period was faster with a good pace in both sides but with so many mistakes specially from home team that wanted release the puck fast. And that caused a lot of giveaways. And with that Lausanne would end up scoring the third goal in the game by Joel Genazzi assisted by Louhivaara. In the third period Biel scored the first goal in the game by Jerome Samson assisted by Dragan Umicevic. Two minutes later in power-play situation Biel scored by Mathias Rossi assisted by Ramon Untersander. And Biel was in the game that seemed lost. In the end Biel didn't manage to tie the game and Lausanne get the three points and is almost certain to participate in 2015 play-offs. Biel still has four points more for the play-off spot but the battle will be a tough one until the end.
