Lomabardi Heads Back to Switzerland

Declining to go to Hartford (AHL) after last Tuesdays roster cut by the New York Rangers Matt Lombardi has returned to Switzerland to play.

 
 
 
 

The team based in Geneva known as HC Geneve-Servette announced in a press release they had signed the Canadian forward to a two year plus one year option to wear his cranberry red number 10 jersey once again.

Lombardi 32, led the Swiss League A Division in asssits (30) and total points (50) last season in a league that has just a 50 game regular season and is currently in sixth place in a 12 team league with a 3-4-2-1 record.

The long time HC Geneve-Servette head coach is former New Haven Nighthawk Chris McSorley, the younger brother of one time NHL’er the retired Marty McSorley.
