Sweden finishes their home tournament with a 2-0 win against Russia.
After two losses at home ice Sweden won their last game before the 2014 World Championship with 2-0 against Russia. Anders Nilsson and Joacim Eriksson played half the game each and kept their goal clean despite several good Russian chances.
Linus Klasen gave Sweden the lead in the first period while Mikael Backlund made the final score 2-0 when he finished off a counter attack in the third period in front of only 6677 spectators in the Globe Arena.
Even if Sweden won head coach Mårts wasn't very pleased "I'm happy to win but I think we played better in the other two games".
The result placed Sweden in third place while Russia finsihed last in the tournament that won't be played next year when the EHT changes format.
After the game three players were scratched from the Swedish WC roster. Patrik Hersley, William Karlsson and Niklas Olausson won't play in Minsk. Another player that can be a question mark is Dick Axelsson who left the game with an injury.
