Alois Hadamczik resigns

Czech coach resigned following the team's poor performance in Sochi.
"I can confirm today that coach Alois Hadamzcik called and told me his decision to quit the national team. Of course I respect his decision" said today the president of the Czech ice hockey association Tomáš Král to website hokej.cz. earlier same Alois Hadamczik announced his resignation at Hitradio Orion, explaining he doesn't work anymore under the pressure media put on him before and during the Winter Games
"In this situation, I do not want to continue working. For me it is a very difficult situation. I think a lot on players, I know many coaches would like to reach this position, it's difficult for me to leave, because I have always worked with pride , for the national team"said Hadamczik, which had a contract until World Championship 2015, held in Czech Republic.
Hadamczik led the national team since the season 2010 /11, catching the third place at World Championships in 2011 and 2012 and previously from 2005 to 2008, winning the bronze at Turin 2006 and silver medal at IHWC in same year. "After two consecutive medals I could walk away and say, let's take someone else" said Hadamczik.
In Sochi Czech Republic was eliminated by the United States 5-2 in the quarter finals and recorded only two victories in the tournament.
"We have a new coach in a matter of days," said Tomáš Král.
