Ak Bars Kazan and Salavat Yulaev Ufa sweep the series 4-0 against Barys Astana and Sibir Novosibirsk.

 
 
 
 
Sibir Novosibirsk 0:5 Salavat Yulayev Ufa
Vitaly Kolesnik made his first start in the Salavat net this playoffs and he made 37 saves to earn the shutout when Sibir was beaten 5-0. Aleksandr Svitov scored twice. Salavat wins the 1/8 final series 4-0.

Barys Astana 2:4 Ak Bars Kazan
Ak Bars knocked out Barys Astana of Kazakhstan in four straight games. Today´s result was 4-2. Danis Zaripov opened the scoring and also got the game-winning 3-2 goal. Niko Kapanen score 4-2 in the empty net when Barys had pulled goaltender Jeff Glass.

Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk 1:2 Metallurg Magnitogorsk
Magnitogorsk beat Yugra 2-1 today to tie the series 2-2. Stanislav Chistov scored 1-0 for Magnitogorsk in the first period. Dmitri Altarev tied it in the second. In the third period Denis Platonov scored the winning goal on a penalty shot.

Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk 1:3 Avangard Omsk
Avangard also tied the series against Neftekhimik. The game today was won 3-1. The goals were scored by Alexei Kalyushny, Nick Angell and Alexander Popov. Jaromir Jagr got his first two points of the playoffs when he assisted on the first two goals. Pavel Brendl played his first game of the playoffs and scored Neftekhimik´s goal.
