Fans of the Cardiff Devils have reason to cheer after the team pulled off a great four point weekend with wins over Hull Stingrays and Sheffield Steelers.
On Saturday, the team travelled to Hull who have caused them problems this year, but they took home a hard fought and well deserved 4 - 1 win.
On Sunday night they returned home to face Sheffield in a fixture not many thought they'd win.
The game started strong, with both sides getting a lot of puck movement but not so many scoring opportunities until the Devils struck at 3.12.
Tomas Kurka carried the puck down the wing before setting up captain Mac Faulkner with a great cross-crease pass which he buried home for his 13th of the year.
The game continued, with the Devils holding the puck more than the Steelers, but Sheffield were shooting more, desperate to tie the score.
They eventually lit the lamp from a lucky bounce, Danny Meyers stormed down the right wing before making a cross-crease pass. The pass deflected off Devils defenseman Tyson Marsh's stick before finding the net which made it 1 - 1 after 20 minutes of play.
The second went scoreless and brought much of the same, the Devils controlling the tempo and the Steelers threatening on the counter-attack.
This continued for much of the third until the Devils found the go-ahead goal they deserved.
Chris Blight showed great determination to keep the puck in the zone, finding and open Ben Davies who made a great cross-crease pass to Jake Morrisette who fired it into the net, in a mirror image of the Devils first goal.
Down by one with less than 3 minutes to play, Sheffield upped the pressure, pulling Frank Doyle for the extra man, but Chris Blight was there to fire the puck down the ice and into the empty net to make it a 3 - 1 win for the Devils.
With the 4 point weekend the Devils still find themselves near the bottom of the table, but they put themselves in a better position to crawl their way up the standings with a large portion of the season still to play.

Steelers Man of the Match - # 2 Chad Langlais
