After two years in charge of the Sheffield Steelers, Ryan Finnerty signed to coach the Braehead Clan this year, and in two meetings, the Clan have taken all four points from the Steelers.
The first meeting between the two sides was way back in September, where a late goal for Braehead from Ray Macias forced a shootout which Braehead took, giving Finnerty his first win over the Steelers in his first game against his former club.
The second meeting didn't need a shootout, or overtime as the extremely shortbenched Braehead Clan grabbed another victory, thanks to some good goaltending from Kyle Jones.
Sheffield were off the mark early, Jason Hewitt was fed the puck from Phil Hill and converted to give Sheffield an early 1 - 0 lead.
The Steelers kept pressing, taking 13 shots on net in the opening frame, but it was Braehead who would end the first 20 minutes with the lead.
Matt Towe grabbed the first goal at 16.41, beating Frank Doyle between the Steelers pipes, before Joel Champagne added his 8th of the year less than a minute later.
Just one goal in the second period, Shane Lust found the net midway through the period making it 3 - 1 leaving the Steelers a mountain to climb in the third.
However if theres one thing the Steelers have shown this year, it's that they can finish strong, but Kyle Jones was able to stop any comeback.
Robert Dowd did manage to beat Jones with his 11th goal of the year, coming shorthanded as Tim Spencer sat on a two minute cross checking call, but the Steelers couldn't get any closer.
With time running out, Frank Doyle headed to the bench in favour of an extra attacker giving the Steelers a 6 on 4 with Ed McGrane in the box for Braehead, but the open net was found by Neil Trimm with 28 seconds left, giving Braehead a 4 - 2 road victory over the Steelers.
Braehead completed a perfect weekend after defeating the Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday night to a 3 - 1 scoreline, and the Steelers split their weekend with a 3 - 0 road win over Fife Flyers on Saturday, before being outdone by the Clan.
The win sees Braehead draw level with Sheffield with 16 points on the year, with the Steelers facing a difficult next weekend with fixtures against the Coventry Blaze and Belfast Giants.
