Medvescak goes 8 in a row, Lev crushes Traktor, Severstal beats Admiral in a goal-fest. Kovi makes a hat-trick in his return.
Even without Sergei Fedorov who was due to make a comeback on Friday, but will probably play for his CSKA on Sunday against Neftekhimik. CSKA went on to the shootout to defeat Metallurg of Magnitogorsk 2:1. Metallurg opened the scoring through Sergei Mozyakin at 28:44.
1:33 into the third period Oleg Saprykin levels the scores and takes the game into overtime. As no one scored, the game went to the shootout. Ilya Zubov scored the game-winner, the only one to score at all.
A real goal-fest took place in Cherepovets as Severstal and Admiral played a 4:4 tie. Bogdan Kiselevich added two assists while Vladimir Antipov, Pavel Buchnevich, Alexander Fedoseyev and Teemu Laakso added one goal apiece.
Artyom Ternavsky stroke twice for Admoral, Niclas Bergfors scored the opener and added an assists, while Felix Schutz had two assists on his team. The game went to the shootout, and only Vladimir Antipov was able to score, while Jakub Stepanek stopped all three Vladivostok players following his 35 saves, 88.6SVS% game.
Medvescak continues to roll as the beat Donbass in Donetsk with a score 5:2. Donbass usually don't allow so many goals at home, and exactly a year before was the last time in the KHL they conceded five times against Dinamo Minsk.
Patrick Bjorkstrand opened the scoring for the visiting side on their first shot of the game at 10:16. Three minutes later Bill Thomas doubles the score. Before the end of the first period Teemu Laine cuts the lead to half.
In the second Michael Ryan scored a surprise goal directly off the faceoff. Petteri Wirtanen gives the home side hope, but Andrew Murray and Bill Thomas seal the deal late in the third.
SKA saw their Ilya Kovalchuk return on the ice as he records a hat-trick of assists. Metallurg of Novokuznetsk was beaten by Kovi-Show, as the game was decided by powerplay squads. Alexei Semyonov opens the scoring, Kovalchuk makes three assists right after and SKA show they're pretty serious about winning the game. Kevin Dallman, Tony Martensson and Dmitry Kalinin score to get the edge.
In other games, Amur beats Lokomotiv 1:0 in the shootout as Dmitry Tarasov and Jakub Petruzalek find the net in the shootout. In Prague another goal-fest of the night took place as Lev crushed Traktor with a score 7:2. Jakub Klepis records a goal and an assist, while Jiri Sekac finished the game with two assists.
Alexander Kutuzov brings the game to a close as Sibir beat Atlant on the road in overtime. It only took him 44 seconds to light the lamp. Dinamo Minsk snaps a surprising win in Belarus over Spartak of Moscow. Alexei Yefimenko and Alexander Materukhin gave the hosts the edge in the third period.
Dinamo Riga beats Neftekhimik at home 2:1, while Slovan wins over Salavat in the shootout. Tomas Netik puts the dot beating Alexei Volkov.
