Last year champions Skellefteå AIK is the only team full points after two rounds of SHL.
Skellefteå has as expected started the season in style with two wins but it has been two close 3-2 wins against Frölunda and Brynäs. The only other team with two wins is MODO who won 2-1 after OT against Växjö and followed up with a 3-1 win at home to AIK. A good start for MODO's young goalies Ullmark and Forsberg who played one game each.
AIK's Mattias Janmark-Nylén got a great start to season scoring a hattrick in the first round when AIK won 5-4 to HV71. He is the top scorer of the league so far with four points. AIK's Brett Carson has not played as his transfer card is not signed yet.
Another player with paper problems is Färjestad's David Liffiton, Färjestad is also missing defender giant Ole-Kristian Tollefsen due to injury. Färjestad who is last with only one point so far started season with a suprising loss to newcomers Örebro. Örebro who in the second game lost a at home to the other newcomer Leksand 1-2, despite 46-13 in shots on goal. Oscar Alsenfelt made an amazing 45 saves for Leksand. Important points for Leksand after losing the first prestigious game to Brynäs 1-3.
Luleå got a flying start to the season with a 5-1 (the only game so far with a margin over two goals)win against Linköping but lost away to Frölunda yesterday, Frölunda can be satisfied with three points after playing the two expected top teams in the first two games. Linköping managed to bounce back after the bad first game and won 3-2 to Färjestad despite missing both Weinhandl and Himmelfarb due to injuries.
HV71 played a tie over 60 minutes in both their games but after losing the first to AIK they won the derby against Växjö after William Karlsson scored the game winner in overtime. It was the second straight OT loss for Växjö.
