Milan’s olympic arena: race against time, money and expectations
Delays, funding disputes, and NHL warnings put pressure on Milan’s flagship Olympic venue as the 2026 Winter Games draw near. Read more»

September 1 was the last day to apply for hosting the 2018 IIHF World Championship. Two countries applied; Denmark and Latvia.
Ironically, the same two countries applied together to co-host the 2017 World Championship, but lost the vote in May to Germany / France.
Now Denmark and Latvia are opponents when it will be decided in May in Minsk who gets to host the 2018 World Championship.
"We have not decided yet whether we choose to apply alone or with another country. We have until the beginning of January 2014 to determine that. But in 2018 we will have two suitable arenas in Denmark, and we can also look at both Malmö and Oslo, if we want to find good partners", says Henrik Bach Nielsen of DIU.
