Shutout victory in the final versus USA when Canada won the U18 tournament again. Czech Republic grabbed bronze.
Four the sixth time in a row Canada won the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup. Canada put up a powerful performance in the final and won 4-0 against the USA. Michael Dal Colle opened the scoring after four minutes with a wrist shot high and after that Canada never let go. Even if USA had some chances it was Canada's game and Jayce Hawrlyuk doubled the lead halfway through the game.In the third USA didn't have enough energy to come back and instead Aaron Ekblad and Brendan Lemieux added goals to seal the final score.
The bronze medal game between Russia and Czech Republic was even and still 2-2 with less than two minutes left to play. And despite sometimes heavy pressure by Russia in the third it was Lukas Vopelka who scored the winner at 58:35, finishing high from close range.
