Federation turns back after general criticisms, but import limit remains
Belarus Federation decided to cancel the announced age limit for next season. In the first meeting after the end of League, a limit was set for players born in 1992 and older. Clubs can register a maximum of five players born in 1993 and 1997, these players will take part in the tournament with a special permit. Now there aren't no more restrictions in the roster. "We disclaim all age limits.Take who you want. But the limit on foreign players remain! Since this season will play only two foreigners " said Federation President Evgeny Vorsin. "Despite the criticism of the press, our domestic championship is stable. And we have clubs interested to join from Ukraine, Poland and even Lithuania. Baltica Vilnius expressed interest to join our 2nd division."
The Assistant to the President for Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Development Maxim Rizhenkov approved the decision: "Such a restriction is a violation of human rights. If a hockey player wants to play and has the right to do, then why is it necessary to somehow limit this desire?"
