Organizers of WC 2011 start thinking about price reduction for the Košice games
Martin Ryba, marketing executive of WC 2011 in Slovakia, released information that only 12% of the tickets for the games played in Košice have been sold . As a result, the organizers of the event are considering discounting the tickets. The price of a ticket for a Košice game lies between 10 and 55 Euros, and this is probably not enough to cover the expenses of the games.
In contrast, two thirds of the tickets for the Bratislava games have been sold already. The capital will host the home team games, as well as last year’s title defender, the Czech Republic. This means many spectators and former fellow countrymen from the neighboring country. Finnish and Russian fans are also interested in buying tickets for the games in Ondrej Nepela Stadium.
For Košice remain less attractive teams. Don’t saying Canada or United States teams aren’t interesting, but their interest in senior world championships is traditionally cold.
The organizers have to rely on Belarus and Switzerland fans, as well as on Swedes – the traditional hockey tourists. "We are expecting bigger interest for tickets from February, when we will start with single game tickets selling," said Ryba with link on a fact, that at the moment the organizers are selling just round and day tickets.
If the start of the third part of tickets distribution won’t increase the ticket demand either, it is possible that the Košice games prize will fall down, the organizers said.
