Canada and Finland got easy wins in the World Juniors on Wednesday.

Canada proved to be at different level than most of the team at the U20 World championship one more time. Team Canada beat Norway easily 10:1. In spite of the fact that Norway outshot tha Canadians 16:15 there was no doubt about the winner of this match. Norwegian 17-year old goaltender Lars Volden did not have his day and almost every chance of Canada ended up as a goal. Brayden Schenn scored four times and added one more assist for Team Canada. In spite of Norway played very disciplined and drew no penalties in the 1st period, the score was 1-6 after 20 minutes.

Then Canada slowed down and woke up in the 57th minute when Schenn added his fourth goal. That was the signal to try scoring 10 goals and Canada achieved this goal 29 seconds to go.

Finland started very well against Germany and outplayed their opponent heavily mainly in the 2nd period. The cornerstone of the Finnish roster Nättinen opened the score in the 1st and in the 2nd period the fight between Finns and German goalie Grubauer continued. In a nine-muinute-span Finns added three more goals and then allowed Germans to get into an offensive zone. The 16-year old Tobias Rider scored a marvellous goal for Germany, but it was not enough to prevent Finns from 5-1 victory.
