NHL players allowed in Elitserien

The clubs of Elitserien previously agreed on not allowing any NHL lockout players unless they sign for the entire season. Today the agreement was ruled illegal by KKV, the Swedish competition authority.

There may be an invasion of NHL players in Elitserien after a decision by Konkurrensverket (KKV). The agreement between the clubs not to allow NHL lockout players was ruled illegal, against the law of competition.

Now it remains to see what the clubs do. Which club takes the first step to break the agreement? Alexander Steen is already practicing with MODO. Brynäs hopes for Nicklas Bäckström. SVT reports that Frölunda are considering Henrik Lundqvist, Erik Karlsson and Loui Eriksson.
