Petras Nauseda was re-elected President of Lithuanian Federation after his resignation following the scandal involving him and national team players

On August 20 in Vilnius the Lithuanian Federation elected the new Board after the resignation of almost all members, including President Petras Nauseda, following the scandal involving National Team at IHWC in Poland last April.

The extraordinary meeting was attended by 34 of the 36 members and the nine Board Members were elected by secret ballot. Two clubs have lost the right to participate in the elections because they not paid the membership fee. With 24 votes the only candidate for President Petras Nausėda was re-elected. The assembly decided to give confidence to Nausėda despite the responsabilities for what happened in Poland aren't yet clear.

Before the election it was proposed to change the voting procedures. LLRF Secretary Valdas Škadauskas proposed to vote for lists rather than individual candidates. However, the meeting did not support the proposal. Also, the meeting unanimously decided that in order to become new members of the Federation or restore the membership will have to pay 600 litas as membership fee.

The meeting heard and approved the U-18 and U-20 national team head coach Andrejs Jadkausko report about the performances at WJCs. Senior coach Sergei Borisov sent a letter from his hometown Moscow to discuss again what happened in Poland, remarking the unsportsmanlike and unprofessional behaviour by athletes and President but the Assembly decided to approve the Team Manager's report.

Finally LLRF General Secretary Valdas Škadauskas emphasized the lack of finances but also the good work done by the Federation in last years. According to the Secretary, LLRF two years ago had 600 thousand Litas debts, now reduced to just over 400 thousand. LTL. Besides Nauseda, the other members of the Board elected are: Mindaugas Marcinkevičius, Remigijus Valickas, Vaidas Budrauskas, Sigitas Kazlauskas, Vaclovas Gedvilas, Valentas Gvergždis, Andrėjus Silinas, Valdas Škadauskas and Andrejus Simankovas.
