Former HYC Herentals captain become professional cycling rider three years ago

Rob Goris, currently a rider of cycling team Accent Jobs-Willems Veranda, has died of a heart attack at age 30 on July 5. He was visiting the Tour de France and suffered the fatal attack in his hotel in Rouen.
Goris played hockey professionally for 10 years, spending almost entire career at HYC Herentals (left HYC just for 2003-04 and 2004-05 when he played for Olympia Heist op den Berg) where he was team captain. With Belgium national team Goris played in three IHWC Division II, winning the bronze medal, as captain, in 2006
He started cycling in 2009 and then changed sports, riding for the Continental ranked Team Palmans-Cras in 2010. That year he won the Belgian national title for elites without a contract. In 2011 he joined Accent Jobs.
The night before the attack he appeared on the television show "Vive le Velo", along with his girlfriend. According to program's authors, he "appeared perfectly healthy and told about his long endurance training last week."
