Federation plans to create a new club based in Bobruisk to compete in VHL
After the VHL
discarded the idea to create a
Belarusian conference, during the Belarusian Federation Executive Committee President
Evgeny Vorsin clarifies that Federation won't allow any of Extraliga club to leave the league for competing in Russia: "None of the club, currently playing in the Extraliga, will leave it to act in the VHL."
Vorsin explains Belarus Federation want to have a club in Russian VHL: "This is a logical step to complete the vertical organization, from a top club in KHL, passing through VHL, until MHL. Now we didn't completed this chain because we haven't a link between our young players acting in MHL and the top level." but that "this step should not go to the detriment of the national championship"
The solution proposed is to transform the current MHL team "Dynamo-Shinnik", based in Bobruisk, into a senior team, competing in VHL. Dinamo Minsk Sport Director
Igor Matushkin, attending the meeting, suggested every Extraliga team could "donate" several players at the new team.
All the clubs rejected the idea, but
Vladimir Safonov, General Manager of national teams, tries to mediate: "We are not talking about clubs that will give top players as present or be deprived, the conversation is about a few, at most two, no more than a certain age and on a reimbursable basis. For example,1989 class and younger. With rare exceptions, these players normally don't have many ice time in Extraliga because clubs prefer experienced players, but they need to practice at a higher level, and constantly."
The deadline to enter an official request to partecipate in VHL is April the First. If Dynamo-Shinnik will leave MHL, problably the junior team of Gomel will replace it.
