End of the regular season in Slovakia

The champion of the last three Extraliga seasons, HC Kosice, won the regular season in Slovakia and gained the best position for the upcoming playoffs. Up to the last round it wasn´t decided who will finish as second. Finally HK 36 Skalica earned this spot just before third HC Slovan Bratislava. Both teams will start the quarter final of play offs at home. Also the last round decided on the placement of the positions 6.-8. where better games between teams HKM Zvolen and HC 05 Banska Bystrica decides that HKM Zvolen finished the seventh. The season is over for ninth MHC Martin and HK Nitra is now waiting for the winner of 1.liga to play the relegation battle. There is a chance if Bardejov (asigned to HC Kosice) wins 1.liga playoffs, HK Nitra will be saved for next season without games against the winner of 1.liga. Currently Bardejov is leading in the final series of 1.liga against SHK Piestany 2:0
