Belarusian Federation President explains his idea to preserve domestic hockey
Chairman of Belarus Ice Hockey Federation Evgeny Vorsin said that the Belarusian Open League can become one of the VHL (Russian 2nd League)conferences VHL:
"I can confirm we are in talks with VHL about a possible entry of some of our clubs (editor´s note: sure candidate should be Yunost Minsk, trying to access at Russian hockey from a couple of years, but also Gomel and Neman Grodno expressed interest in recent past).
But I wouldn´t consider the issue of transition or transfer of some of our hockey club in the VHL - said Vorsin to R-Sport newspaper - my idea is that all our Open League was recognized as one of the VHL conferences. I hope this is a fairly good solution. The winners of the conferences will faced to determine the winner of VHL.
Thus our domestic championship is preserved, while at the same time, we can stay in the Russian organization. When I met with Grigory Rapota Secretary of Union between Russia and Belarus), I talked to him about the project, and the possibility in the future to find the money in the federal budget for the finals between Conferences. I think that this project will be quite real."
