Slovak Extraliga after 43 rounds

A short overview about what happened in the league so far

First of all there was a coach change for Slovan Bratislava, where Jan Neliba came for Stefan Mikes.

The first place is held by HC Kosice, the champion of the last three seasons, with newly acquired player Jaroslav Kristek from HC LEV Poprad. Just behind them is Slovan Bratislava with their new coach. They also loaned second goalie Tomi Karhunen from Kärpät Oulu. There is a big battle for the third place between two teams - HK Poprad and HK 36 Skalica. The middle of the Slovak extraliga table is quite equalized. There is not a big difference between HKM Zvolen, Dukla Trencin and MsHK Zilina. The eighth place is held by HC 05 Banska Bystrica at the moment, only two points better than MHC Martin. MHC Martin is now weakened cause Jaroslav Markovic, the scoring leader of the team just left to Czech Extraliga to HC CSOB Pojistovna Pardubice. Last team HK Nitra is trying to avoid relegation battle by winning the last two games.

- Goal in last second of OT by Peter Fabus in the game Dukla Trencin - HC Slovan Bratislava 3:2 OT

- Two wins in a row by last team and first team of league table HK Nitra and HC Kosice

- two wins by Dukla Trencin, one in OT and second after SO

- 10 027 attendance at Slovan Bratislava - HK 36 Skalica game (4:3)

- poor scoring form of HC 05 Banska Bystrica continues
