Mattias Weinhandl of SKA St. Petersburg scored twice on Spartak Moskva's goalie Dominik Hasek to move to the top of the goal scoring list in KHL. Weinhandl has scored 17 goals, one more than Patrick Thoresen and Lukas Kaspar. Of the nine best goal scorers in KHL only two are Russian. Igor Grigorenko and Denis Platonov have scored 13 goals each.

Alexandria Blizzard Dutch forward Nardo Nagtzaam was elected forward of the week in NAHL completing a week to remember with 8 goals and 6 assists in Blizzard's four victory.
"Nardo really picked up his game last weekend and showed why he's one of the best players in the league," said Blizzard assistant coach Jeff Crouse. "He played well in all ends of the rink and we look forward to him continuing to being a leader for our hockey team."
