Antonín Danko, the major of Poprad, Slovakia, is going for a business trip to Russia when he will meet the KHL president Aleksander Medvedeev. They will talk about the possibility of HC LEV Poprad starting in the next KHL season, 2011/2012.
Poprad was appealing for the KHL membership last year already, but the start of HC LEV was rejected by the KHL.

Because of yesterdays Košice win in the game against Nitra(7:1), the HC Košice team is the premature winner of the all Slovak Extraliga regular season 2010/2011. The Košice points lead before the second placed team Poprad, is 19 points now, but in the rest of the regular season the teams can only reach another 18 points.

Goaltender Martin Prusek, former player of the NHL teams Ottawa Senators and Columbus Blue Jackets, will have re-premiere in his professional career in the Czech Extraliga. Prusek signed a three-year deal with the HC Vítkovice Steel team, but during the 2010/2011 pre-season heart troubles were detected of this goaltender. They probably were aftermaths of his collapse in the last season's KHL game between his Dinamo Riga and Balashikha. From this reason Prusek was forbidden any physical activity and was prepared for possibility of the end of his professional career. But after rehabilitation when Prusek was in care of Czech doctor's he was better and started training. After 5 games with HC Olomouc(271min; 1.55AVG; 0.952%) in Czech 1.liga the 1999 World Champion with Czech republic is going for his re-premiere in Czech Extraliga today, in the game between Vítkovice and Kladno(30.1.2011; 17:00CET).

Dominik Hasek added his 7th shut-out of the season (4th in January!) to celebrate his 46th birthday on Saturday. He helped Spartak Moscow to win 7-0 in Khabarovsk and will aspire for the incredible 3rd award Goalie of the Week in the Russian Continental Hockey league in January. Czech national coach Alois Hadamczik said he strongly thinks about recalling Hasek for the national team games including the 2011 IIHF World Championship. The Czech team for LG Sweden Hockey Games will be named on Tuesday.

Last thursday Avangard Omsk shootout victory versus Barys Astana was the game n° 600 in the club for defender Dmitri Ryabykin. He is the fourth player to reach this milestone in club history. Sunday´s Slovak Extraliga game result from match between Bánská Bystrica and Nitra (2:0) was cancelled by the league comission because of an unauthorized start of a Nitra player, Martin Hlavačka. Hlavačka has played this game although he was automatically suspended for one game when he recieved the 5th major penalty in the season. Because the guilt was on Nitra's side, there will be no change in the league standings table, just the result of this game was changed to a 5:0 Bánská Bystica's win by forfeit.
