Goals and assists
Glasgow Clan made it four wins in a row with a 4-2 Friday night win over Guildford Flames at Braehead Arena.
Clan
led by one through the opening 20 minutes but could have been further
ahead. Eamon McAdam got across his crease well to deny Rylan Schwartz
opening the scoring with a one-timer early, The hosts went ahead with
6:29 played on a 2-on-1 rush where Felix Pare beautifully fed Matt Barry
for the far-post deflection to make it 1-0.
McAdam then died a combination of Tyson McLellan and Liam Finlay to keep
his side to within one, while Landon Bow was only really troubled by
some shots from the point.
Clan did everything but score at the start of period two with
excellent pressure on the Flames’ net, just without moving further
ahead. Just shy of the five-minute mark in the period, Guildford were
level, however. A giveaway by Simon Despres in his own zone eventually
led to Matt Alvaro working the puck to Jack Jacome for an excellent
snipe high into Landon Bow's net.
The Flames then had their turn
on the front foot and probably should have gone ahead - some chances in
front, and a Travis Brown slapshot whistling just wide their best
chances.
A penalty on Flames' goalie Eamon McAdam with 3:11 left in the
period led to Clan going back ahead. Steven Seigo had struggled to get
the puck out of his feet to put Clan ahead on the following powerplay,
but on the same play Cole Ully wristed home in the slot to put the hosts
back ahead at 37:14.
5:53 into period three, the Clan worked the puck well to captain
Steven Seigo who wristed home in the slot to give themselves a two-goal
cushion. Brett Ferguson excellently tipped Daniel Tedesco's shot past
Bow with 8:39 to play, and then with 4:09 to go the Flames were given a
late powerplay off a Robert Lachowicz slash. Felix Pare had the best
chance of the man-advantage to put Clan further ahead as the Flames
ended the powerplay without success.
McAdam was pulled with 92 seconds to play, but despite some
pressure it was Tyson McLellan who finished into the empty net off an
unselfish Finlay pass with 46 seconds to play.
