Game recap

Dundee Stars completed a Christmas double over Fife Flyers with a 10-1 thrashing of their Scottish rivals on Wednesday night.

Dundee were up by two after the opening 20 minutes on home ice. Brendan Harms got an nice low tip on a Drydn Dow shot to deflect the puck past Andy Little and put the Stars ahead with 2:50 gone. With only 4:31 on the clock, Dundee went two ahead as Chris McKay, who skated out from his own zone into the Flyers', saw his shot squeeze through Little and trickle over the line. Fife had two powerplays to get themselves on the board, but it ended with them down a pair.

Period pressed home their advantage. Carter Johnson made it 3-0 at 27:20 with a nice drive to the neat and move across Little. Brent Beaudoin's goal on 30 minutes then started a horrible five and a half minutes for the visitors. Spencer Naas deflected a Brendan Harms shot past Little at 31:27 for the Stars' fifth, before Anthony Rinaldi and Naas both scored within 30 seconds of each other ay 33:20 and 33:50 respectively. Anthony Rinaldi made it 8-0 with 4:33 left in the second period.

Rinaldi completed his hat trick 1:34 into period three, while Valentini added his second of the night at 45:41 where the Stars scoring then ended. Lucas Chiodo broke Kevin Carr's shutout with 8:15 left on the clock, but it was the Stars who took the two points in very convincing fashion.
