Game recap

Drydn Dow was the hero for Dundee, giving the Starts a 3-2 win over Fife Flyers with an overtime winner 46 seconds into the bonus period.

Shane Owen made his return to action following injury and was straight to work, facing 12 shots in the opening period and stopping almost all of them. Dundee took the lead with 24 seconds left in the opening period with a Brent Beaudoin shot that snuck in lower at Owen's near post. Earlier in the period, the Flyers had failed to take advantage of a Boarding major on Brendan Harms.

While the Stars had the only goal of period one, it was Fife who were the only team to score in the second. An interference call on Hrams put the Flyers on a man advantage, and some excellent passing worked space for Colin Shirley to fire into the roof of Kevin Carr's net from the slot and tie things up at 29:24.

1:45 into period three, Josh Brittain span and shot on a loose puck in front of Owen to put the Stars back ahead, but they were pulled back with six minutes to go as Kyle Osterberg's shot went through a crowd of players to beat Carr.

46 seconds into overtime, a Spencer Naas shot went over Owen's net and bounced back into the path of Dow who deflected it into the net. The Flyers immediately asked for a review as the puck appeared to come off Dow's skate, but after a lengthy time examining the footage, the goal was given with it being adjudged not to have been a distinct kicking motion.
