Belfast Giants made it six straight wins thanks to a Friday night win in Manchester.

Goals in the first and last minute of the opening period gave the visitors a two-goal lead after 20 minutes in front of 1,672 fans in the Storm Shelter. Ciaran Long opened the scoring against his former team with 32 seconds played, while Mark Cooper doubled that advantage with 19 left before the buzzer.

Colby McAuley finished off on a scrappy play around the net to make it three with 23:18 played, before Jesper Ohrval got Storm on the board with his 16th goal of the season.

Scott Conway scoring 77 seconds into period three all-but killed the game off as the Giants took a 4-1 led, while goals 90 seconds apart from Storm's Stephen Johnson and Giants' Steven Owre created a 5-2 final scoreline.
