Game recap

A last-minute Nolan LaPorte goal helped Glasgow Clan to a 4-3 derby win over Dundee Stars in an exciting game at Braehead Arena.

Mitch Jones blasted home from the point to give the Clan the lead at 14:09 during some 4-on-4 action, and just over four minutes later the hosts had doubled their lead. Braylon Shmyr was the scorer this time when he pounced on a rebound that Brython Preece couldn't control.

Shmyr made it 3-0 to Clan 63 seconds into period three off a nice tic-tac-toe play involving Guillaume Gauthier and Colton Waltz.

However, at three down the stars were sparked into life. Sebastian Bengtsson show his shot sneak through Shane Starrett 11 seconds later to get the visitors on the board, while 75 seconds before the end of the period Gabriel Desjardins finished back post off Bengtsson's feed to cut the deficit down to one heading into period three.

Desjardins levelled the scores with just over 10 minutes to go, and as the clock ticked down it looked like both teams would take a point. However, a late too many men call on the Stars gave the Clan a shot at winning the game with 1:09 to play, and with 44 seconds on the clock, Nolan LaPorte blasted past Preece to win it for the home side.
