Game recap

Belfast responded to Friday's defeat in Dundee with an emphatic 7-0 victory over the stars on Saturday evening.

Looking for a big reaction after losing in overtime 24 hours earlier, the Giants took full control of this game with two goals in a just under five minutes during the opening period. Mark Cooper slapped home from a tight angle at 13:13, followed by Ben Lake bundling the puck over the line in close on the powerplay with 17:51 played.

The Giants took total control of the game with a four-goal second period that killed the atmosphere at the Dundee Ice Arena. Tyler Soy put them 3-0 up on the powerplay with a goal in close off his skate, adjudged to be a deflection rather than a kick after video review. Mark Cooper beat Adam Morrison five-hole to make it four at 28:46, before Soy got his second powerplay marker of the night on a rebound from Cam Knight's initial slapshot. JJ Piccinich's goal at 35:27 made it 6-0 after 40 minutes in a period where Jackson Whistle entered the net with 24:44 played with Tyler Beskorowany going off injured.

Scott Conway rounded off the scoring with 3:38 left to play as the Giants held on for the shutout as well.
