Game recap

Coventry Blaze made it 14 games in a row in which they've picked up at least a point thanks to a convincing win against Glasgow.

Rasmus Bjerrum gave the Clan an early lead at the Skydome with a nice breakaway move, but the Elite League’s leading scorer Luke Ferrara tied things up at 11:47 from the faceoff spot. 48 seconds before the end of the period, David Broll finished off a scrappy play to give the Blaze the lead after one period.

A howler from Patrick Killeen who ended up kicking the puck into his own net after a bounce off the backboards put Coventry 3-1 ahead 2:50 into period two, and things got worse for the visitors just shy of ten minutes later through Ross Venus. Chad Rau finished from close range with 1:52 left in the period to bring the Clan back into things, however that was cancelled out by Dillion Lawrence’s excellent wrist-shot with 42 seconds left in the period.

Corcoran and Venus both added one more each to move the hosts into a 7-2 lead with Matt Beca's goal at 54:25 getting the Clan up to three on the night.

Coventry's win keeps them as the league's most in-form team, while Glasgow have now dropped out of the playoffs completely.
