Game recap

Sheffield Steelers took advantage of results elsewhere to go back to three points clear at the top of the Elite League table - but they had to do it the hard way after trailing to Fife by two after 20 minutes.

Powerplay goals from Paul Crowder and Danick Gauthier just over two minutes apart put the Flyers into a decent lead at the FlyDSA Arena, but that would all change in period two.

Aaron Johnson and Janne Kolehmainen struck 25 seconds apart to the tie game by 26:36, and just short of the halfway mark in the game Nikolai Lemtyugov put the Steelers into a lead that they would not lose. Tanner Eberle and Anthony DeLuca both grabbed goals before the middle frame was out to put the Steelers 5-2 up after 40 minutes.

DeLuca struck again at 48:48 to put the result beyond doubt, while Brandan Connoly and youngster Alex Graham added to the Steelers' total before the final buzzer.

It was an excellent comeback for the league leaders, who notably scored all eight of their goals at even strength.
