Goals and assists
If Fife Flyers wanted to keep their playoff hopes alive then they needed to win both of their games this weekend, and they completed that task with a Sunday evening victory at home to Manchester Storm.
Tim Crowder got the final touch to give the hosts the lead at 11:49 with what was the only goal of the opening period.
Layne Ulmer levelled for the Storm in bizarre fashion with Flyers' netminder Adam Morrison involved in a mixup behind the net, and the Storm forward having just the simple task of putting the puck into a gaping net. Chase Schaber however tipped James Isaacs shot past Matt Ginn 55 seconds later to give Fife the lead back.
Scott Simmonds tied things up 2:09 into the final period, but Paul Crowder got the Flyers back ahead with 10:03 to play. Manchester pushed for an equaliser but with Ginn pulled they failed to carve out any grade-A scoring opportunities and the Flyers held on to secure a huge four-point weekend.
