Game recap

Manchester Storm ended a run of five straight losses in all competitions with a hard-fought 3-2 win in Nottingham 24 hours after the Panthers had won in Cardiff.

Things started well for the Panthers who went ahead at 8:44 with Brian Connelly finding Sam Herr out in front after a goalmouth scramble. Manchester levelled 29 seconds before the end of the period when Layne Ulmer capitalised on a defensive zone turnover and fired past Jackson Whistle.

No goals in period two meant it was all to play for in the third, and it was again the Panthers who went into the lead. Breaking 3-on-2 Mark Matheson fed Jake Hansen who provided a feed for Dylan Malmquist to deflect past Matt Ginn at 43:01. Again the Storm came back however with Henrik Samuelsson scoring in the slot just over three minutes later to bring them back level.

The winning goal came from Declan Bulmer at 52:43 with a speculative shot on net that went through everyone and into the net. It was an important win for Manchester who avoid falling further behind the playoff places.
