Game recap

Belfast ensured they'd end the weekend with a home win and two points as they came from behind to beat Manchester - the Storm ended their three in three with four points.

Fans at the SSE Arena had to wait over 28 minutes to see a goal, and when it came it was one the majority probably didn’t want to see – Zach Sullivan’s shot from the point went through everyone to put the Storm ahead. The visitors looked to be taking that lead into the break until Matt Pelech tied the game with 59 seconds left in the period.

Into period three, and moments after the Storm were awarded a penalty shot that wasn’t converted, they paid the price as Jordan Smotherman’s wrist shot from close range put the Giants ahead at 46:36. The Giants made the game safe when Smotherman was impeded down heading towards an empty net, and the goal given with 14 seconds to go.
