Polish league reaches the play-offs

(12 Feb 2011, 22:45) | Although organized games had been played in Poland since 1927, the Polish hockey league was founded quite late, in 1955. Presently the top league has ten participants, Nowy Targ being the most successful team in Polish history, holding 19 titles. Oswiecim has won eight times, Legia Warszawa seven and Polonia Bytom six times. The other title holders are Zagłębie Sosnowiec (5 times), Cracovia Krakow, Górnik Katowice, GKS Katowice all 3 times) and Krynica and GKS Tychy (1 time). Read more»
