The game winning goal in overtime and one assist by Teemu Laine when the Finnish lions beat the Czech Republic. Sweden and Russia will play "final" tonight.
Finland beat the Czech Republic in overtime. A result that will please Sweden and Russia. If any of the teams win the game in regular time they will be LG Hockey Games champions 2011.
The Czechs had penalty trouble in today's game and Finland took advantage of that scoring both goals in power plays. Juhamatti Aaltonen gave the finns the lead in the first while Juuso Puustinen made it 2-1 in the second. Both goals scored 17 minutes into the periods.

One of the Czech Republic's key players were Färjestad's goalie Alexander Salak whose NHL rights recently were traded from Florida to Chicago. "They just kept shooting into my body. Nothing else. I dont understand
why there were so many penalties in the game. Some referees just like
lifting their hands too much. A point for a loss in overtime is OK. If
we play with the full effort, we will not lose many games", Salak said after the game.
Peter Jansky and Ondrej Nemec scored early goals in second and third to tie the game up. After the 2-2 goal only 52 seconds into the third period the Czechs took over the game and outshot the Finns 11-4 in the third period and had a shot in the post. But the Finnish goalie Teemu Lassila did not concede any more goals and the game went to overtime where Teemu Laine scored the winner.

The Czech coach Hadamczik said "We knew we cannot play as bad as we did against the Swedes. We scated
better, played physical game, with more emotions. However, we draw
plenty penalties and we have to get rid of them. We lost in overtime,
but we played a good game."
Finland now have two points and the Czech Republic one point while Sweden and Russia both have three points before the afternoon game between them.
