Austria defeats Slovenia in the final test
In a thrilling final test ahead of the Olympic qualification tournament, Austria's men's national hockey team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Slovenia on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Graz. The win came after a strong comeback performance, setting a positive tone for Austria as they prepare for the upcoming tournament in Bratislava.
Slovenia struck first, with Zan Jezovsek finding the back of the net just 6:08 into the game, putting Austria on the back foot. However, Austria responded in the second period with goals from David Reinbacher at 25:22 and Vinzenz Rohrer at 33:14, giving the home side a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.
