The new season of Latvian League will start next September with some changes

The Latvian Hockey Federation announced the composition of the upcoming Optibet Hockey League (OHL), the domestic championship, opened to teams from other Baltic states

Seven teams will play in the 2024 2025 Optibet Hokeja Liga:

Four from Latvia- champion HK mogo, Hokeja Skola "Rīga", HK Zemgale/LBTU and Prizma Riga, two from Lithuania 7bet-HOCKEY PUNKS Vilnius and Airwell Energija Elektrenai and HC Panter Tallinn from Estonia

Unlike last season HK Kurbads and HC Kaunas City will not participate. Kurbads released a statement earlier in June announced the team will partecipate to JAHL League, the second division, citing financial considerations, sponsor activity and long-term development analysis of the club as reason for the voluntary demotion. No information at the moment on the reasons for the withdrawal of Kaunas, champion of Lithuania in 2023

The winner of the OHL playoffs will be crowned the Baltic champion. Meanwhile, the units that occupy the highest positions from Latvia and Lithuania will be recognized as the champions of their countries.

In the next OHL season championship, the teams will play a six-round tournament. Therefore, a total of 126 games will be played.
