The Alliance of European Hockey Clubs (E.H.C.) has announced the nominees for the 2021 Fenix Outdoor – Warrior European Hockey Awards.

Sam Hallam (Växjö Lakers, SHL) – has piloted all 3 of Lakers’ SHL titles over 7 seasons

Bob Hartley (Avangard Omsk, KHL) – led KHL team to Gagarin Cup, also headed Latvia at Worlds

Dan Tangnes (EV Zug, NL) – another strong season with Zug, just their 2nd national title

Václav Varada (Oceláři Třinec, Extraliga) – 2nd-place in reg. season & repeat as Extraliga champion

Pekka Virta (Lukko Rauma, Liiga) – 1st place in reg. season and Lukko’s 1st title in almost 60 years

Club of the Year - presented by Hanwag

Nominated (in alphabetical order):

Avangard Omsk (KHL) – Another strong KHL season, first title since 2004

EV Zug (NL) – won “double” in Switzerland, just second title overall – first in 1998

HC Donbass( UHL) – overcame great obstacles to become a Ukrainian powerhouse, CHL wild-card

Lukko Rauma (Liiga) – Won “double” in Finland, first title since 1963

Växjö Lakers (SHL) – 3rd title in 7 years for previously unheralded club


WarriorCareer Excellence Award

The Warrior Career Excellence Award is annually presented to the player who during his or her career has best exemplified the qualities of sportsmanship and dedication combined with community service and high standard of playing ability.

Pavel Datsyuk (Avtomobilist Yekaterinberg, KHL) – Ageless Triple Gold Club member
Viktor Hübl (HC Litvínov, Extraliga) – Longtime HCL captain continues to be productive at42

Jaromír Jágr ( Kladno, Chance Liga) – Helped Kladno return to Extraliga, will play at 50

Thomas Koch ( KAC Klagenfurt,ICEHL) – 39 points at 37, helped maternal club to yet another title

Joakim Lindström ( Skellefteå AIK, SHL) – No signs of slowing down, tied for 7thin SHL scoring.
