With just a few days to go until the World Championship starts Sweden beat Finland 2-1 in Brno.
Sweden beat Finland 2-1 in a quite boring game in DRFG Arena. All goals were scored in the opening period. Veli-Matti Savinainen scored Finland's goal on the first powerplay of the game beautifully set up by young prospect Kaapo Kakko. Dennis Rasmussen tied it for Sweden a few minutes later and at 12:24 Elias Lindholm scored the winner for Sweden.
In the last minute of the second period Sweden's goalkeeper Jacob Markström was injured after a collision with Juhani Tyrväinen and had to leave the game. No penalty was called for the Finnish skater.
"We'll see if the hit their goalie in the third period", said Sweden's Patric Hörnqvist to SVT in the intermission.
But not much of interest happened in the third period and Sweden won the game 2-1.
