Comfortable victory and first points for Hungary in Nur-Sultan
In a game crucial to avoid relegation – both teams
start the confrontation pointless – Hungary finally finds the first victory in its
disappointed tournament so far. Coach Majoross has defender Bence Sziranyi back
in the roster after the injury, while Lithuania added Tadas Kumeliauskas to the
squad, after the Memmingen Indians forward recover from a minor injury. Coach
Lacriox chooses experienced Mantas Armalis in the net after the debut of junior
Laurynas Lubys in the last game against Kazakhstan
Two goals by Istvan Bartalis give Hungary a double
advantage in the first period, with mention for the second, scored after a
classy move in the Baltic defense. In a period well controlled by Hungary, the
goal scored by Kumeliauskas on power play one minute before the siren leaves
opened the question.

In the second period Lithuania pays the price
of inexperience and the indecisions of goalie Armalis: Hungary scores twice after
an imprecise intervention of Skelleftea goalie: at 26:14 Csanad Erdelyi tapping
in a rebound after a shot by Janos Vas; at 36:04 a wrong pass by Armalis serving
Bartalis who finds Istvan Sofron ready for the decisive deflection.

Hungary controls the game in the third period,
without emotions until the final brave assault of Lithuania, pulling the
goalie, without scoring.
Finally three points for Hungary against a
weaker opponent and another good game pointless for Lithuania
MVP: Ugnius Cizas – Istvan Sofron
