Indonesia has won their first ever ice hockey contest on March 25th, 2018, beating Team India in a Division I Challenge Cup of Asia contest in Malaysia.
Before their first ever Challenge Cup of Asia game in late March, the team had previously only participated in two other tournaments, the Asian Winter Games and South East Asian Games a year ago. The team never scored more than three goals in any of those eight games and they gave up at least 10 goals in six of those games.
Indonesia had scored three goals in the opening period before eventually sealing the deal just past the midway mark of the second. Anryan Saputra was the man of the hour, scoring twice against India to give his nation their first victory.
Indonesia lost their first game of the tournament 12-0 to the hosts from Malaysia, who are expected to finish with the tournament championship. Indonesia's will finish off the round robin with a contest against Macau, a team that has yet to win a game in this year's tournament.
