Sheffield Steelers took on hosts Rungsted in game four of the cup.
This was the game between the two teams so far without a win and it wasn't decided until penalty shots were taken. Sheffield scored two of there three from MARQUARDT and WESTERLING whilst Rungsted were uncuccessful with their four.
So Sheffield came out on top in an encounter where the hosts were three nil up at one point: ROSENTHAL doubling the lead after HANSEN had scored inside three minutes with a controversial strike.
A tip by HANSEN from a cross by ROSENTHALsaw the puck fly over Mustokovs shoulder to put Rungsted three up.
But, an up to now lacklustre Steelers, hit a purple patch and three goals in four minutes from NELSON, WESTERLING and DOWD tied the game up. It was all Sheffield now but with a rare break and only five seconds remaining BERGMAN scored after a cross crease pass from Hansen.
The third period was pretty much dominated by Steelers, Rungsted happy to hold onto what they had, but with six minutes of the game remaining NELSON got the puck from between his feet to control and score after a pass from O'Connor.
The overtime period was only noticeable for the lack of meaningful opportunities and we went to the penalty shot saga.
Sheffield Steelers now need to beat Kurbads Riga to qualify for the Super Final.
