The new Scottish National League champions are the Paisley Pirates.
After being named by an online flight network as one the top 42 ice hockey towns; Paisley Pirates are the new SNL champions after overwhelming Dundee Tigers 6-0 in their final league game to win the title.
While Aberdeen Lynx could equal Pirates’ points total if they were to win all of their remaining games, Pirates have a better head to head against the Lynx, and thus the title comes back to Paisley after a four year break.
Paisley had a strong campaign throughout, only losing one game that was to Aberdeen.
The Paisley Pirates is one of the of the oldest ice Hockey clubs in Scotland they were formed in 1946, they continue to this day and now play at the Braehead Arena.
They are the epitome of the game in Scotland. In season 1953-4 they won the Autumn Cup, the Scottish Cup and the Canada Cup.
