After winning the fifth final 4-1 and the final series with the same numbers Färjestad is Swedish Champions after a brilliant playoff performance.

After a fantastic playoff campaign Färjestad is Swedish champions again. After losing only two games and winning the final 4-1 they showed that they are clearly the best team in Sweden.

Skellefteå who made their first final in over 30 years it didn't felt ready to go all the way. They have a lot of talent but not the experience of games like this that Färjestad has tons of.

In today's final game Färjestad got the important first goal very luckily. After a hard penalty call Magnus Nygren's shot from the blueline hit Ivan Majesky's leg and into his own net. The shot having been clearly wide of the target otherwise. The goal gave Färjestad the momentum and after that it was all about the home team.

As in many of the other final games Skellefteå made several mistakes in their own zone giving Färjestad several good scoring chances. On one of them, Marius Holtet made it 2-0.

And when the veteran Pelle Prestberg made it 3-0 4:28 into the third period nothing could stop them. Färjestad cruised through the third period on route to another gold for the classic club from Färjestad. It was just a bump on the road when Mikko Lehtonen scored 3-1 with just under five minutes left to play. And instead Kristofer Berglund sealed the win with an empty net goal.

Färjestad Swedish Champions for the ninth time!
