Kristall Saratov withdrew from VHL

During a meeting of the Saratov Regional Ice Hockey Federation last Tuesday, was decided that the participation of Kristall Saratov in the VHL is not possible anymore.

Before the season the Saratov Regional Ice Hockey Federation presented the necessary guarantees for the participation of the teams Kristall and Kristall-Junior in the VHL and VHL-B leagues. Despite the existence of debts, the Russian Hockey Federation allowed the teams to participate in the competitions due the importance of the participation of the club in a professional league for the development of hockey in Saratov. Unfortunately city and regional authorities have failed to normalize the debt situation and provide the necessary funding for the teams. 

All the games already played in the regular season, as well as the points and the statistics of players, will continue to count for the final of the table. In the remaining regular season games Kristall will be forfeited, and a technical victory will be assigned to the opponents.

Despite the forced removal of the team from the VHL,  the hockey in the Saratov region will continue to exist. Regional Federation decided that team Kristall-Junior will continue to compete in VHL-B league
