The Swede Viktor Thomasson has been suspended for two years after cross-checking a Canadian forward.
Viktor Thomasson of Nacka HK in Swedish Division 2 (4th tier league) has been suspended from all sports in Sweden for two years after a cross-check on Bålsta's Canadian forward Tommy Latouche Gauvin.
Close to the end of the first period of the qualification game to Division 1 Thomasson saw Gauvin kneeing his brother Daniel Thomasson on the other end of the ice and got furious.
Gauvin wasn't seriously injured but Thomasson still got the longest suspension possible - two years. During that team he is not even allowed to practise with any team in any sport.
Nacka and Thomasson are considering appeal against the suspension and will meet tomorrow to discuss the matter.
"He is remorseful and knows he made a big foul. But he is supposed to still be able to do things. It's the thing with all the sporting activities that we will look at and talk about tomorrow", says the Nacka president Leif Halvorsen to Aftonbladet.
