The Elite league in the UK is becoming clearer as regards the title winners.
After back to back defeats at the hands of lowly Coventry Blaze, the Sheffield Steelers look to have dropped out of the title race. It seems to be between leaders Cardiff Devils and second placed Braehead Clan. Although the latter club have three games in hand, and a fairly easy run in, they are seven points behind. Before the weekend it had looked as though Sheffield had a slim chance with Nottingham Panthers and Belfast Giants also slipping out of contention.
At the other end of the table Edinburgh Capitals(8th) and Manchester Storm(7th) appear doomed to miss out on a play off place at the end of the season. Indeed this may well help Braehead Clan in there title quest as they have to play both bottom sides three more times each.
